According to international convention, a society is “aged” when 10% of its population is 60 years of age or older, or 7% of its population are 65 or older. By the early 1990s, the elderly population aged 60 and over in China had exceeded 100 million with an increase of 24 million at an annual growth rate of 3%. Every day there are more than 20,000 people celebrating their 60th birthday in the country. According to China’s fifth national census, the elderly population is 132 million, or 10% of the total; that is to say, China has now become an “aged” society. 《英语听力与口语》课程教学大纲
二、课程性质、目的和任务
本课程是培养预科班学生英语能力的重要课程之一。本课程的听力部分旨在通过对学生提供系统的、大量的、由浅入深的有声资料,进行循序渐进的听力技能训练,帮助学生初步克服听力障碍,听懂英语国家人士在一般社交场合的交谈,能理解大意、抓住主要论点或情节,能根据所听材料进行分析、领会说话人的态度、感情和真实意图,用英语简要地做笔记,增进学生对英语国家生活习俗和风土人情的了解。口语部分的主要任务是逐步培养学生的口语表达能力,通过讨论一些与生活、工作密切相关的话题,鼓励学生从自己的经历、感受和社会文化知识中寻找语言灵感、与人交流。通过本课程的学习,学生应能够运用清晰和比较流畅的英语与人交流。
三、课程的内容及要求、教学重点与难点
1.主要教学内容
听力部分:选材时注意把语言真实度放在重要位置上,让学生尽可能多地接触不同国家、不同性别、不同年龄、不同口音和不同阶层的人所说的英语;对每篇所选的语言材料必须提供一定的词汇量及文化背景知识,从而增进学生对英语民族及使用英语的国家的民族生活习俗和风土人情的了解;语言材料要广泛,体裁要多样,知识面要宽,难度要相对稳定、循序渐进,内容要有普遍性和时代感,从而使教材内容有利于拓宽学生的知识面,开发智力,提高技能。
口语部分:根据所听材料回答问题、描述、叙述、以及讨论;使听说相结合,实现听说共进。
2.知识点和能力点要求
听力部分:
知识点:掌握基本的语音知识和读音规则,识别英语语音中的连读、重读、同化、失去爆破以及语音语调等;掌握并熟练运用文章所学的词汇、习语、固定搭配等语言点,能够深入理解文章的重点和难点。
能力点:运用猜测和联想理解生词的的能力、用英语直接理解信息并加工信息的能
力、针对任务进行复述、归纳、重点信息再现的能力,能够有效地进行独立学习,逐步发展自己的英语听力技巧。
口语部分:
知识点:掌握和日常生活密切相关的英语词汇及习惯表达,并了解一定的社会、文化背景知识。
能力点:运用简单的日常英语进行对话,并能就所听材料回答问题及进行讨论、描述、比较和复述,做到语音、语调、语法基本正确。能就熟悉的话题经一定的准备后,作1-2分钟的连贯性发言。
3.教学的重点与难点
听力部分:
教学重点:熟练抓住句子结构中的关键成分,迅速而且高效地对信息进行加工。 教学难点:针对不同国家、不同性别、不同年龄、不同口音和不同阶层的人所说的英语进行有效地辨别,并能从中提取有效信息。
口语部分:
教学重点:通过教学介绍一些社会、文化背景知识,扩大学生的英语词汇量,使学生掌握必要的英语习惯表达方式,提高学生的英语组织、表达能力。
教学难点:使学生能够根据自己的思维重新组织内容,用自己的语言进行准确地复述。
四、课程教学各环节的基本要求
(一)课堂讲授的基本要求
1.加强基本功训练
本课程的基本教学方法是通过让学生接触大量的听力及视听材料,增加语言输入,然后经过模仿、训练达到对语言的自由运用。在教学过程中应加强语言基本功的训练,如语音、语调、朗读、复述等。针对语言功能项目中常用句型要进行严格的训练,以打下良好的基础。
2.注重听说能力的培养
在教学中要引导学生在听的基础上,进行大量的口语实践。教学活动要有利于语言运用能力的培养;听力理解、交际能力和连贯表达能力的培养并重。
3.培养学生的跨文化交际意识
语言是文化交流的媒介,交际过程无时无刻不体现着文化之间的差异。如果缺乏这方面的知识,说话往往会不得体。因此在教学中要引导学生了解英语国家的社会、文化习俗,理解交际过程中众多因素(如:场景、功能、意念、性别、社会、心理、风格、情感)与语言得体性的关系,使其掌握正确、得体的表达方式。
(二)作业的基本要求
1.课后多听课上所学内容,要求跟读,并能复述。
2.加强学生课外听力能力的锻炼,要求学生课外能够针对不同的听力材料进行精听和泛听,独立分析,培养学生独自获取信息的能力。
(三)考核方式及基本要求
《英语听力与口语》课程两个学期均为考试课。
成绩合成及评分标准:
平时成绩占40%,其中:出勤10%、课堂表现(回答问题、复述等)10%,课后作业10%,平时测验10%。
期末考试成绩占60%,按百分制出题,以闭卷笔试方式与口语方式结合进行。 总评成绩为平时与期末成绩之和。
五、教学总时数与课时分配表
本课程在2个学期完成,总学时64,周学时均为2。
