Nowadays mobile phones are becoming more and more popular among the middle school students. Some think it is good for students to bring a mobile phone. But some people do not think so. They think it is bad for students to bring a mobile phone. Because the students will use mobile phones to play games, sent text messages, watch movies, etc which will do harm to their study. And if a mobile phone ring in the class, the teacher and students would be disturbed. In my opinion, we can bring mobile phones to school.
As we know, the 21st century is a modern age and full of information. A mobile phone is one of the quickest tools for us to exchange information. The mobile phone is a fashionable and useful invention, so we ought to make the best use of it. Suppose there’s a sudden accident, it is more convenient for us to dial for help immediately. There’re also some games in the mobile phone. We can relax ourselves by playing them when we’re tired of our studies. 随着高科技时代的进步与发展，手机功能越来越丰富多采，资费越来越便宜，手机的普及推广必将影响着越来越多的中学生使用手机上网，越来越多的中学生已经不把手机当成与人通讯的工具，而是当作与电脑一样的工具：上网、聊QQ、玩游戏、视频、下载、发短信……越来越多的中学生带着手机上学，在校使用手机也显露出诸多弊病，虽然手机方便了家长与学生的联系，但却严重地影响了学校的管理和学生的学习。
一、“网吧”进教室，沉迷于手机上网
以前，学生需要到网吧才能上网。而现在，随着手机GPRS的强大功能的开通，学生可以直接在教室里随时通过手机进行QQ聊天、网页浏览、在线游戏、阅读不良信息等。据调查，持有手机的学生90%以上都使用过GPRS功能。如此一来，学生们看小说、聊天都要加班加点，哪里还有精力和时间顾及课本上那些枯燥无味的内容呢？目前，手机已成为学生精神污染的主要来源，给学生的心理健康带来了极大的副作用，后果非常严重。
二、影响学习和休息，降低学习效率
学生自制能力是不强的，很难经得起手机的诱惑，一些学生在课堂上经常用手机打游戏、发短信、听音乐、看小说，大大地降低了老师的教学效果，也让自己对讲课内容一无所知。另外，还有一些学生在课堂上不敢玩手机，可是他们的把所有的课余时间都专注在手机上了，除了吃饭，几乎是手不离机。
每当就寝熄灯后，有的学生依旧在收发短消息、看电子小说、玩游戏、看电影，导致整个寝室的学生都无法入睡。一些学生对此深恶痛绝，苦不堪言，学习成绩受到一定的影响，呼吁学校禁止学生使用手机。
另外，中学生拥有手机也会使学生的社交活动内容增加，这一点对中学生的学业只会产生不良影响而没一点好处。
三、谈情说爱的“帮凶”
中学生“早恋”对学习的危害是大家公认的，而现在手机已经成为中学生“早恋”的“帮凶”。手机是他们谈情求爱的最佳工具和最好媒介，通过手机传情、谈情，打破了时间、空间的限制，可以实现一切时间、一切地点的谈情说爱。特别是通过短信的方式，更为隐密，且更加方便表达无法当面启齿的话语。
手机是他们受到骚扰的“罪魁祸首”。一些学生本来的学习生活很安宁、充实，但一旦使用手机（特别是女生），那么求爱短信、骚扰电话就会纷至沓来，一旦如此就别想安心学习了。
四、严重破坏考风，影响学风
学生有了手机后，一些学生大部分时间和精力都花在玩手机上，一到考试就一筹莫展， 不少学生利用手机在考试中发短信求答案，甚至有的学生直接在网上搜索答案和作文范文，这样不仅严重违反了考试规则，扰乱了正常考试竞争的公平性，还在师生中引起极恶劣的影响。利用手机考试作弊让部分学生厌恶学习，养成依赖思想，从而影响学风，不利于学生良好品质的养成。
五、容易滋生事端，出现安全隐患
携带手机增加了学生跟社会上不良青年的来往，个别同学在学校有什么不顺心的事，就给对方联系，叫来“帮忙”，结果往往造成学生的一些纠纷或打架。一些学生之间因打手机和发短信息不当，有时会伤害对方的自尊心，造成不必要的麻烦，从而影响正常的同学关系，也引起了不少矛盾和纠纷；上体育课或参加活动时带在身上不方便，不带又容易丢失，寄宿生的手机在宿舍里也经常出现失窃，这些都给学校管理造成不小的问题，手机成为学校安全的隐患。
六、增加经济负担，助长攀比心理
中学生买手机，每月还要支付一笔不少的话费，客观上增加了家庭的经济负担。另外，手机的更新换代很快，一部分家境较好的学生往往追求使用新款手机，这样也很容易助长学生的攀比心理，不利于学生思想的健康成长
七、影响身体健康，降低记忆力
研究证明，青少年的耳朵和颅骨比较幼嫩，手机辐射会对青少年的脑部神经造成不可逆的伤害，配有手机的学生的理解力、反应力、记忆力将会明显下降。同时，手机还会使听觉受损，睡眠质量下降，免疫功能失调。另外它还是致癌因子，能诱发白血病和肿瘤。由于手机应用历史还很短，可能还有一些危害性没被科学家发现。
鉴于中学生使用手机的危害性十分严重，北京四中、人大附中、上海仙霞中学和湖北省黄岗中学等一些全国名校已率先下达了手机封杀令----严禁学生在校佩带手机。湖北省教育厅2010年9月印发的《关于进一步规范普通中小学办学行为的规定》中 第二十条明确规定：禁止中小学生学习时间在教学楼、教室、阅览室、图书室等场所使用手机、小灵通等移动通讯工具。还有一些政府官员、教育专家准备向人大会议提案，建议以法律的形式禁止在校中小学生使用手机。
手机的视频、聊天、上网、下载、发短信、玩游戏等功能已远远超过了中学生的使用范围，它应该是成年人使用的娱乐工具，把它交给辨别是非能力差、自控能力弱、好奇心强、贪玩心大、正处在学习知识关键时期的中学生，耽误了他们的学习，断送了他们的前程。这与家长们给子女佩带手机的初衷背道而驰。同时，手机隐蔽性强，我们无法断定学生们用手机到底干了些什么。要想使我们的中学教育质量不滑坡，还想让我们的学生在学校学点东西，禁手机是大势所趋。禁止中学生佩带手机是对学生负责、是对家长负责、是防止学生玩物丧志不思进取的最根本最有效的办法。要知道，手机危害的绝不止是一代学生啊。
